Transportation can be a traumatic experience for an artwork. This lovely intricate painting/ drawing was heavily water damaged during shipping. Partial submersion of the painting and frame resulted in deep tidelines and extreme planar distortion. A treatment plan to reduce the staining via local washing and slow drying and tensioning was carefully followed to bring the artwork back to its original healthy state.
