Paper Conservator, Emily Derse

Mrs. Derse holds a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin, Madison where she specialized in bookmaking; a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Conservation from the Studio Arts Centers International in Florence, Italy; and a Masters in Conservation of Works on Paper from the University of Northumbria, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. In addition, Mrs. Derse has held conservation internships and fellowships at several prestigious institutions, including the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco; The Toledo Museum in Ohio; the Victoria & Albert Museum in London; Johns Hopkins University’s Sheridan Libraries; and the Laboratory for Restoration of Paper, Books, and Parchment in Florence. 

She is a member of the American Institute for Conservation and an individual member of the Western Association for Art Conservation.
